Beverly Van Lund, age 87, passed away on November 22, 2018 due to natural causes. Bev spent the first 55 years of her life in the Milwaukee area where she developed a career in the railroad and oil industries. Bev was a true trailblazer for women in industry as she held numerous important positions in the workplace. She enjoyed her time at Texpar where many meaningful relationships were made, especially with her dear friends Roy and Kay Niemeyer. In 1985, Bev and her husband, Roland (Van), moved to sunny Arizona to escape from Wisconsin. Bev was eternally grateful to the management team at Texpar for allowing her to remain employed, even after she left Milwaukee. Beverly was truly the center of any room she was in and the life of the party. Her gentle, sometimes non-negotiable, controlling hand could be felt at almost any interaction. She exuded common sense and had a wonderful, humorous command of the English language. Beverly carried on the trait of her Aunt Lila and was quick to correct those of us who needed a grammar lesson. She was exceedingly generous and would thwart anyone else's attempt to pick up the tab. Also, she very much appreciated the power of a compliment and was an expert at making people feel good about themselves. Two of the greatest joys in her and Van's lives were travel and chihuahuas. In the 70's and 80's, no continent was safe as she and Van traveled the world. There were no dogs in history that were as well cared for as the 4 different chihuahuas that were lucky to be wards of the Van Lund's!Beverly was also capable of change, and not always for the best. While she spent most of her life as a Democratic voter, she became the most ardent Republican one can imagine in her later years. There were many friendly political debates between her and certain nameless family members. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Roland Van Lund, who passed in 2014 and her sister, Mary Siegl, in 2016. She is survived by nephew, Rick (Tammy) Siegl; grand-nephew, Ricky, and grand-niece, Kylee Beverly of Verona, WI; nephew, Bob Siegl of Milwaukee; niece, Susan (Mike) Pieh; grand-nieces, Valerie and Heather of Richfield, WI. The family wishes to thank the wonderful people at Santé of Surprise Hospice Unit as well as Bev's 24-Hour Caregiver, Brigid.A Celebration of Life event will be held at Best Funeral Services, 9380 W. Peoria Ave., Peoria, AZ on January 12th at 11:00 A.M.
