The 32nd Annual Best of the West Awards Dinner took place on Thursday, Oct. 24, at Desert Diamond Arena honoring the West Valley’s best leaders, organizations, and programs.

Westmarc, the regional group that has representation from all West Valley cities, recognized finalists in the categories of Economic Engine, Emerging Leader, Excellence in Education & Workforce Development, Excellence in Innovation, and Quality of Life Enhancement.

Best of the West awardees honored in West Valley

The 32nd Annual Best of the West Awards Dinner took place on Thursday, Oct. 24, at Desert Diamond Arena honoring the West Valley’s best leaders, organizations, and programs.

Westmarc, the regional group that has representation from all West Valley cities, recognized finalists in the categories of Economic Engine, Emerging Leader, Excellence in Education & Workforce Development, Excellence in Innovation, and Quality of Life Enhancement.

Economic Engine: Village at Prasada

Emerging Leader: Jordan Dodeward, State of Arizona

Excellence in Education & Workforce Development: Buckeye Union High School District – Career & Technical Education

Excellence in Innovation: Gaucho Security Operations Center, Glendale Community College

Quality of Life Enhancement: Valleywise Health First Episode Center - Avondale

Additionally, the WESTMARC Board of Directors recognized individuals and projects that inspire leadership and advances the West Valley. This year the WESTMARC Board of Directors honored:

  • Dr. Randy Gibb, Grand Canyon University – Inspiration in Leadership Award
  • West Valley Forward, Arizona State University - Regional Advancement Award
  • Jeanine Jerkovic, city of Surprise - President’s Choice Award

“We received over 40 nominations this year! This is a definite indication that the West Valley’s economy is still growing and expanding with quality investments,” said Sintra Hoffman, Westmarc president and CEO. “Westmarc is proud to honor these outstanding individuals and organizations making a great impact in the West Valley.”
