SUN CITY WEST - Bunny was born to Charles and Bernice Bunck on May 31, 1936 in Racine, Wis. She graduated from St. Catherine's high school in Racine (1954) and the Misericordia School of Nursing in Milwaukee, (1957). Bunny married James Pier on Sept. 7, 1957. She was a surgical nurse in Milwaukee, Racine, and Cincinnati. She played the flute in the Racine Elks Youth Corps Band, and St. Catherine's high school band. We lived in Schenectady, New York for 35 years, where Jim worked for General Electric. In 1999, we moved to Sun City West, Arizona where the heat is dry (but very hot) and Bunny obtained significant relief from arthritis and bursitis problems. Music, leather tooling, oil painting and silk flowers were her hobbies when not occupied by the children. Bunny is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jim; daughters, Susan in Port St. Lucie, Fla., and Carol in Texarkana, Texas; four grandchildren, Brian, Elizabeth and Nicholas in Texarkana, and Emmalynn in Port St. Lucie; and one great-grandchild, Nathan in Texarkana. She died peacefully on Oct. 8, 2012 as Jim held her hand and told her she would be with God in a few moments.
