BenjaminGoodin, 92Sun City West resident Benjamin Austin Goodin died Feb. 9 at Grandview Terrace.Mr. Goodin was born June 6, 1915 in Leadwood, Mo. He was a retired colonel from the U.S. Army. He served in five European theaters throughout World War II as a member of Gen. George S. Patton's 6th Armored Division. He was awarded the Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, Croix de Guerre and a Purple Heart.He was president of the Bridgeport Wholesale Co. Inc., and member and chairman of the board of TMA and a member of the Illinois Small Business Administration. He and his wife were members of the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Sun City West.He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Helen Alexander Goodin; his parents, Austin and Pearl Goodin; and eight brothers and sisters.He is survived by a son, Ben Alexander Goodin; a daughter, Barbara Goodin Wilking; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory can be made to the Advent Church Endowment Fund or the Grandview Terrace Employee Scholarship Fund.
