Benevilla has a new director of the West Valley Life Enrichment Adult Day Program in Peoria.

Lindsey Nichols, will lead the  program located at the Church at Cactus, 8133 W Cactus Rd., Peoria. One of four Benevilla Life Enrichment Programs, this stimulating and interactive program supports a diverse group of people with a wide range of care needs.

The program provides daytime care for members with dementia, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease as well as adults with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities or those who experienced a stroke who live in Peoria, Glendale, and West Phoenix.

Nichols y is a native of Arizona and is dedicated in assisting individuals with all different abilities. She worked as a case manager for individuals with developmental disabilities for approximately 10 years and as an Article 9 trainer for two years. Nichols  is passionate about leading and educating employees on the Arizona State Law of Article 9, an important part of the Arizona Administrative code related to how the Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities (DES/DDD) and all programs operated, licensed, supervised or financially supported by DES/DDD positively support member behavior.

“I enjoy advocating and ensuring individuals of all abilities are receiving the appropriate and necessary services they need, and their lives are being enriched daily," Nichols said. “My goals are to expand my knowledge and career in the social work environment.”

Nichols is a mom of two beautiful redheads, a son, 23,  and a daughter, 15. She loves spending time with family and finding new Arizona adventure day trips. She enjoys off roading and experiencing the beautiful desert of Arizona. Nichols loves watching both her son and daughter sing, act and play the piano.

As the new director of the West Valley program, Lindsey is excited to use her experiences to continue to help foster love and compassion for those with disabilities.

I am very excited and blessed to be a part of Benevilla and to support the West Valley," Nichols said.

The program is built on a foundation of enhancing life skills, educational opportunities, socialization, recreation and vocational training. Members are involved and help direct their daily activities and they enjoy indoor and outdoor spaces offering inviting opportunities for group activities or private time, just like home. Entertainment, education, games, crafts, gardening, community outings, and exercise fill the daily agenda.

“We want the community to experience that all people can benefit from the opportunity to connect with others in meaningful ways, no matter their age or challenges. The staff of caring professionals leading our program make sure those meaningful experiences happen every day and our members’ lives are positively impacted with every visit,”  Lisa Minette, Benevilla senior director of education and enrichment.
