Heavy traffic volumes struggle to meet city’s growth demand

Once upon a time in the mid-1990s, Bell Road in Surprise was considered a road to nowhere.

Years before the city was built out on the north and south sides of the road, a three-lane road on both sides stretched for miles into the desert, leading many early residents to wonder why the road was built so big for no development.

Thirty years later, that’s no longer the case.
