Beat the heat — visit family-friendly places this summer

A few residents opted to have an encounter with a penguin at Arizona Boardwalk in Scottsdale. The cost per person is $69.95 plus a general admission ticket.

Hey, Phoenix, it’s time to beat this heat.

So far, the summer months have been brutal.

Over a four-day stretch this July, the high temperature was 118 degrees twice at Sky Harbor International Airport, according to the National Weather Service in Phoenix.
