Josh SeKoch announced his resignation as Valley Vista football coach to his players Nov. 24, a little more than a week after finishing his ninth season as the head coach of the Monsoon.
In an interview Monday, SeKoch said he made his decision the week of the Boulder Creek game Nov. 13 and let athletic director Brad Larremore know, but had not mentioned his decision to players before that game or the season finale against Shadow Ridge.
"I didn't tell them until Tuesday before break. Why tell them that right before their senior night game," SeKoch said.
