BBQ fundraiser Nov. 5 benefits family of jail guard killed by inmate

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is holding a barbecue fundraiser 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5 for the family of detention officer Gene Lee, who died from his injuries Wednesday after being attacked by an inmate at Lower Buckeye Jail in Phoenix the day before.
The fundraiser will be held at the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association, 1102 W. Adams St. in Phoenix.
All donations will benefit the Lee family. Donations are accepted at the event and at PLEAcharities.org.
