Barbara Riley, 81Sun City West resident Barbara B. Riley died Jan. 21, 2008.Ms. Riley was born in Orange, N.J., and was raised in Montclair and Mount Pleasant, N.J. She earned a baccalaurette degree in education from Newark State Teachers College (now Keane University) and a Master of Arts degree from New York University. After graduating from college, she served as an art education teacher in Madison, N.J.Described as a brilliant, loving and devoted homemaker, she made every house a home. Upon arriving in Sun City West 20 years ago, she worked as a docent for the West Valley Art Museum. She had a tremendous love for life, the ocean, art, animals, learning and enjoying all the beauties of this world.Described as a beautiful and loving wife, mother and friend, Ms. Riley is survived by her husband of 56 years, Com. Robert J. Riley, USNR (Ret.); a daughter, Col. Sandra J. Evans; and a son, Dr. Douglas J. Riley.She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Leroy and Victor.A viewing was Jan. 23 and a service in celebration of her life was conducted Jan. 24 at Sunland Memorial Park in Sun City.
