SUN CITY - Barbara Dunmire Franklin of Peoria, Ariz. went peacefully to be with the Lord surrounded by love at the age of 90 on April 15, 2014. Barbara, affectionately known as "Barb," to her family and friends, was born in Seattle, Washington and graduated from Broadway High School in 1941. She was blessed to find true love again after the loss of her second husband, Russ Dunmire when she was paired with Robert "Bob" Franklin for a couple's golf tournament 26 years ago. They partnered for life 19 years ago to the delight of their families and friends. Barbara retired 40 years ago following a long and successful career in the Accounting field. She was an incredibly generous person, always looking for ways to bless her family, friends, and others. She instilled the importance of hard work, education, fairness, and finance to all those who would listen to her. She was a faithful member of Lakeview United Methodist Church and Palmbrook Country Club in Sun City, Arizona and an avid reader and bridge player. Barbara's legacy will proudly live on through her surviving family members that include her husband, Robert "Bob" Franklin; four daughters, Linda, Judy, Janis, Susan and their spouses; her sister, Betty Carter of Washington also survives her.
