One night after the election, at 10:01 p.m. July 22, first time Glendale City Council candidates Lisa Baker and Rory Goreé were in good shape to win their district races.
Maricopa County updated its vote totals for the fourth time that night and Goreé’s lead over Ocotillo District incumbent Leandro Baldenegro grew. Goreé had 950 votes (57.1%) compared to Baldenegro’s 714 (42.9%).
Election results are not official as of Thursday but Goreé had reason to be confident during a July 21 election night party at GFWC Glendale Woman’s Club downtown.
