Arizona Helping Hands is on a mission to donate more than 7,500 backpacks filled with school supplies to children on a foster care journey for the 11th Annual Back to School Drive.

Deer Valley Unified School District starts the new year on Monday, July 31. The first day of school in Peoria Unified School District is Wednesday, Aug. 9.

The Back-to-School Program aims to provide the resources foster care students need to feel confident and prepared for the entire school year. Glendale residents and businesses can help make a positive impact by helping the nonprofit with donations and applications to host a collection drive.

Individuals and organizations interested in supporting the 11th Annual Back can help by:

  • Signing up to host a collection drive
  • Dropping off backpack and school supplies donations at the Arizona Helping Hands resource center or local participating Banner Physical Therapy and Copper State Credit Union locations in Glendale including:
  • Banner Physical Therapy Arrowhead, 6320 W. Union Hills Drive, Suite A265
  • Banner Thunderbird Medical Center, 5605 W. Eugie Ave., Suite 212 & 215
  • Copper State Credit Union, 18559 N. 59th Ave.
  • Shopping from the Back-to-School Amazon Wishlist

The Back-to-School Drive’s distribution goes from Thursday, July 13 through Friday, Aug. 4.
