Babies in Glendale hospital join Final Four festivities

Babies in the NICU and Maternity Units at Abrazo Arrowhead Campus in Glendale got into the Final Four spirit this weekend with onesies proclaiming they were ‘the cutest fans in town.’

Hospital staff wanted to celebrate March Madness and the NCAA Final Four round by outfitting the newborns in basketball-themed gear, stated Abrazo Arrowhead Campus COO Matt Sartorius in a press release.

This isn’t the first time that newborns at Abrazo Arrowhead Campus, 18701 N. 67th Ave., have been outfitted in sports-themed onesies. Babies also supported the Arizona Diamondbacks’ World Series run last October with baseball-themed onesies.

It’s all part of the hospital staff’s efforts to have fun with local events and holidays, Sartorius stated.

Abrazo Arrowhead Campus delivers more than 3,500 babies, including multiples like twins and triplets every year.

The hospital recently completed a $14 million expansion of its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, adding new rooms and perinatal care areas to provide a higher level of care for expecting mothers and preterm babies.
