AzMERIT scores in Peoria Unified go down across the board

District’s primary focus is closing learning gaps

This year’s AzMERIT test scores in the Peoria Unified School District went down across the board in both elementary school standardized tests — English language arts and math.

Scores also went down on the ACT test, which is used to measure achievement in high school students.

Educators say it may take several years to close these learning gaps.
