It may be supply and demand, but Valley motorists are bearing the brunt of high gas prices.
Around the Valley, prices are north of $4.50 a gallon in most places, and in the Northwest Valley they were near $4.80 a gallon. Those prices are some of the highest in the state as locations in Pima County can be a dollar or more less, and up north in Prescott and Flagstaff fuel is cheaper.
An Arizona State University supply chain expert said gas station owners margins “are very slim” despite the fluctuation of prices at the pump on Valley streets.
