AZ Blue opens storefront at Junior Achievement’s BizTown in Tempe

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona has partnered with Junior Achievement of Arizona to open a storefront at BizTown in Tempe.

The goal is “to broaden real-life workplace skills for students in Arizona,” a release stated.

JA BizTown is a program that introduces fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-graders to economic concepts, workplace skills and personal and business finances in a student-sized town built for them.

AZ Blue opens storefront at Junior Achievement’s BizTown in Tempe

Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona has partnered with Junior Achievement of Arizona to open a storefront at BizTown in Tempe.

The goal is “to broaden real-life workplace skills for students in Arizona,” a release stated.

JA BizTown is a program that introduces fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-graders to economic concepts, workplace skills and personal and business finances in a student-sized town built for them.  

BizTown is at 636 W. Southern Ave., Tempe.

“During their time at JA BizTown, students operate a simulated economy and take on the challenge of running businesses,” the release stated.

Students get experience as employees and consumers, paying rent, taxes and utilities, purchasing insurance, depositing paychecks and more, according to the release.
