Axon’s new campus proposal facing resistance from Scottsdale city officials

Taser maker Axon’s plans to build a multi-use campus on 74 acres near Hayden Road and the Loop 101 is having a difficult time getting approval from the city.

The city Airport Commission voted 7-0 to recommend the city council not rezone the property to allow the development, and the planning commission voted 6-1 to continue the company’s request to the commission’s Feb. 14 hearing.

The Airport Commission’s recommendation was largely based on the prediction that all of the new residents would complain about the noise from the airport, putting them at odds with it.
