Avondale police respond to domestic shooting that left woman dead

An Avondale woman was killed by her husband in a case that led to an hour-long standoff, police said.

Avondale authorities on Tuesday, May 30, responded to a call of gunshots and a woman screaming in a residential neighborhood.

The officer responded to the call, which turned into a barricade situation where the suspect waited inside the home before turning himself in.
