Special to Independent Newsmedia
September is National Library Card Sign-Up Month, and Avondale Public Library is taking up the cause.
Throughout September new patrons can participate in raffles by signing up for a library card, or if you already are a patron, you can get entered to win simply by showing your library card. Raffle tickets can be dropped in the designated entry box at Avondale libraries.
Prizes are up for grabs each week, including gift cards to the likes of Amazon, Main Event, Chick-fil-A, and Dutch Bros. The more patrons engage with their library cards, the more chances they have to win prizes.
Avondale Public Library is offering an amnesty program throughout September. Patrons with overdue fines can return to the library without any questions asked.
Avondale is home to two local libraries: Avondale Civic Center Library, 11350 W. Civic Center Drive and Sam Garcia Western Avenue Library, 495 E. Western Ave.
