Avondale hosts Family Campout at Friendship Park

Avondale Parks and Recreation Department will host its annual Family Campout at Friendship Park 4 p.m. March 25 to 9 a.m. March 26.

Check in will start at 3 p.m. Saturday.

Participants will enjoy activities such as fishing, crafts, tent decorating contest, animal interactions from Estrella Mountain Community College Animal Ambassadors program, a pop up movie of "Disney’s Jungle Cruise," enjoy some s’mores, then sleep under the stars and explore Friendship Park Sunday morning with a scavenger hunt.

Activities, campground, light dinner and light breakfast are provided. Food trucks will be available on Saturday night, providing additional food options and treats for purchase.

Families are required to bring their own tents; staff will be on hand to help set them up.

Cost is $50 per family of 4; $10 for additional family members.

 Friendship Park is at 12325 W McDowell Rd, Avondale, AZ 85392.  Register today for this outdoor experience at www.avondaleaz.gov/events. This program is supported in part by the following local community partner, Avondale Toyota.
