Avondale Fire to host Fire Prevention Week open house

In honor of Fire Prevention Awareness Week, Avondale firefighters will welcome the community into their “house” with an open house event.

Fire Station 175 will open to the public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at 12495 W. Van Buren St.

Residents will learn valuable information to keep safe from fire danger. Trucks and equipment will be on display with activities for the kids. Hot dogs and snacks will also be available.

The National Fire Protection Association has resources online, on behalf of National Fire Prevention Week. Information is available at www.firepreventionweek.org.
