Avoiding the fall in the Sun City area and beyond

Seniors have options to stay upright

There is a line from a television commercial — “I’ve fallen and I can’t get up” — that is all too common among senior citizens.

The Sun City Posse, an all-volunteer organization that patrols an age-restricted community, deals with seniors falling on a regular basis during welfare checks. In one recent incident, a patrol member found a resident who had fallen on the floor of a home and had been there for a few days, according to Danny Moore, Posse executive officer.

“A few weeks ago I had one where the person had fallen, and we estimate that they where on the floor for a week before we found them,” he said. “We gained entrance into house and found the person still alive.”
