Authorities have identified the man shot and killed by Queen Creek police officers on Tuesday as 23-year-old Gaven Johnson.
Mesa Police report the investigation into the shooting showed Johnson “was in possession of a handgun” at the time he fired a round at Queen Creek Police officers, striking two of them
“One officer was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has been discharged. The second officer was treated on scene. Both officers are well and are expected to make a full recovery,” according to a statement from Mesa police.
