In the last month, police said, there were three incidents reported in the area of Eighth Street near South Gary Drive, including one sexual assault.
In each case, a person of the same description entered through an unlocked door or garage, according to an earlier release.
"We are immensely grateful for the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts of our officers, investigators and our invaluable partners at the state and federal level,” Tempe Police Chief Kenneth McCoy said.
McCoy also thanked Tempe residents, saying the suspect’s arrest “would not have been possible without the collective strength, support and trust of our incredible community. Thank you for your vigilance, cooperation, and commitment to keeping Tempe safe.
The investigation continues, police said, adding that further information will be provided as the case progresses.
