Auditions for Dream City’s Christmas show entitled, “The Brightest Star,’’ will begin on Aug. 14 to fill more than 175 roles.

Open parts range from a “bright-eyed college student finding her way through New York City to a busker singing for money in the subway,” according to a press release, inviting actors, singers, and dancers six years and older of all experience levels.

Those interested in auditioning can do so in-person or submit an audition tape for Dream City’s annual Christmas celebration, which is one of the largest in Arizona with nearly 42,000 guests expected to attend the 14 performances in December.

Dream City is looking forward to bringing the show back to the Valley after canceling in 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic, the release said.

“We had to take a year off last holiday season due to COVID, and it absolutely devastated us to not bring this coveted celebration to our community,” said Brooke Baker, Dream City creative arts director, in a prepared statement.

“But, the show must go on and we are incredibly overjoyed to go again this year! The Brightest Star is going to be magical and more cutting-edge than ever before. I’m looking forward to finding the best talent to execute our vision.”

Tickets and additional information on “The Brightest Star” will be available at a later date, added the release.
