Arizona voters will decide the state’s next attorney general during the 2026 election, with the office playing a central role in law enforcement, consumer protection and legal oversight of state government.
The attorney general serves as Arizona’s chief legal officer, advising state agencies, representing the state in court and enforcing laws ranging from criminal statutes to civil rights protections. The office also leads consumer fraud enforcement and often engages in public advocacy on issues such as public safety and environmental protection. The position carries a four-year term and is second in the line of succession to the governor.
Arizona’s primary election is scheduled for July 21, with the general election set for Nov. 3.
