Radix Law welcomes its newest partner Gary Lento who focuses his practice on business, civil and commercial litigation.
Lento has a broad range of legal experience and over 30 years of practice. He began his career in Wisconsin as an Assistant District Attorney before moving on to a successful civil, criminal defense, family law, and personal injury practice.
“Gary’s extraordinary depth and variety of practice experience, along with his affinity for complex cases, make him a natural fit for our unique platform at Radix,” Andy Kvesic, Managing Partner at Radix Law, said in a press release. “His entrepreneurial spirit complements our own. Plus, it’s wonderful to add yet another attorney with high-level experience at the Arizona Attorney General’s Office to our bench.”
Lento previously practiced at a large Central California firm focusing on complex civil litigation in cases involving brand management and protection, breach of contract, class action, construction, employment, discrimination, professional negligence defense, wage and hour, and wrongful termination. He represented businesses and employers before the National Labor Relations Board, the Equal Rights Division of the Department of Workforce Development, and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Lento also served as outside general counsel to businesses of all sizes, providing advice, contract drafting and negotiation, litigation services, and regulatory guidance. While in California, he served as President of the local bar association’s construction law section and as a board member for the Boys & Girls Clubs.
After moving to Arizona, Lento worked for private firms handling complex civil cases before being asked to leave private practice and serve as Special Litigation Counsel in the Arizona Attorney General’s Office defending state agencies in class action lawsuits. He also served as Special Counsel in the Arizona Attorney General’s Office defending Arizona agencies in administration and legal matters, as well as providing legal advice on a broad range of cases and issues, including class action litigation, appeals, legislation, policy, and procedures.
Lento has written on construction law matters and was a speaker at a National Academy of Forensic Engineers conference on the effective collaboration between attorneys and expert witnesses.
“I enjoy working with startups and entrepreneurs and the firm’s entrepreneurial nature is one of the things that drew me here,” Lento said in a press release. “This is a firm that is thinking out of the box. Not only is Radix a firm with great lawyers, but it’s also on the cutting edge of a new law firm business model that is transformational.”
Lento is admitted to practice in all Arizona state courts; the United States District Court, District of Arizona; the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit; the United States District Courts of California for the Central, Eastern and Northern Districts; the United States District Court, Eastern District of Wisconsin; and the U.S. Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit.
He earned his B.A. in politics from the Catholic University of America, in Washington D.C, and his J.D. from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America.
A sports fan, Lento played semi-professional football for the Racine Raiders in Wisconsin, playing in four national championships and winning two of them.
