ASU, Mayo partner to boost startups

Second accelerator program launches Tuesday

As the partnership between Arizona State University and the world-renowned Mayo Clinic strengthens, a new program is taking off in hopes of changing the medical technology field.

The MedTech Accelerator is a flagship program of the Mayo Clinic and ASU Alliance for Health Care partnership and is designed to help empower medical startups to navigate challenges and bring forth innovations in the medical technology space.

The first cohort of six companies launched in 2019, and the second cohort, with eight unique participants, launches Tuesday for a month-long virtual curriculum. It was originally scheduled to take place in person during 2020 before it was waylaid by the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
