ASU faces lawsuit regarding faculty DEI training

Goldwater Institute, ASU professor claims training is ‘discriminatory’

Diversity, equity and inclusion programming continues to face backlash in Arizona with the Goldwater Institute filing a lawsuit March 19 against the Arizona Board of Regents on behalf of an Arizona State University professor who refuses to take the university’s required training.

Dr. Owen Anderson, a religious studies and philosophy professor for more than 20 years, is facing discipline from university leadership because of his refusal to complete ASU’s mandatory DEI training course, ASU Inclusive Communities.
