The Diablos and Arizona State University men’s tennis have partnered to create the event, which features two three-day tournaments, one of which took place last month.
The ASU team is the series host and participates in each tournament at the Kiwanis Tennis Center in Tempe.
The second tournament will be Friday-Sunday, March 10-12, and include ASU, Texas Tech University, Boise State University, University of Memphis, Drake University, Michigan State University, Liberty University and Oregon State University.
The schedule is:
- March 10: Session 1 (1 p.m.) Session 2 (5 p.m.)
- March 11: Session 1 (1 p.m.) Session 2 (5 p.m.)
- March 12: Session 1 (10 a.m.) Session 2 (1 p.m.)
General admission tickets are $10, and food, beverages, including alcohol, and merchandise will be sold on site with a variety of local restaurant operators, food trucks and vendors, event orgnizers said in a release.
Proceeds from the events will go to Tempe Diablos Charities.
Mike DiDomenico, Tempe Diablos president, said there are limited tennis options in the Valley, and “the tournament will deliver an experience that is under supplied and much needed in our community.”
Mathew Hill, ASU’s coach, said he hopes the partnership with the Diablos “make(s) Arizona a top destination for the highest -level of collegiate tennis while also making a meaningful impact in our communities.
“I’m thrilled to show the Valley what Arizona State University Men’s Tennis team and this tournament can do for this sport.”
