Posted
Independent Newsmedia
Police arrested a suspect in Sun City following an assault at a residence in Goodyear.
The assault happened Saturday night in the PebbleCreek community of Goodyear, which is south of Indian School Road and Pebble Creek Parkway.
Goodyear police said a male suspect allegedly struck a female at a residence in the area. The suspect then stole the victim's purse and vehicle and fled from the scene.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office assisted in locating the vehicle, which happened Sunday night near 107th Avenue and Sun City Boulevard in Sun City, about a 14-mile drive northeast from the assault scene.
Goodyear detectives responded to the Sun City location, where police said the suspect failed to comply. Authorities then deployed a less lethal bean bag round and a K-9 to arrest the suspect.
Police identified the suspect as Daniel Swaim. He faces charges including aggravated assault, kidnapping, weapons misconduct and armed robbery.
