Assault at Phoenix care facility turns to homicide investigation after victim dies

A 60-year-old man has died from injuries he sustained in a July 2 aggravated assault at a care facility, Phoenix police said Friday.

The case is now a homicide investigation.

Police responded about 5:10 a.m. July 2 to an aggravated assault at the care facility near 30th Street and Indian School Road. They found John Solomon with serious injuries. He was taken to a hospital where he died a week later.
