Scottsdale residents raise questions about city park plan

Ashler Hills Park receives continuance amid unanswered feedback

A site plan for a new neighbor park has been continued to a future Scottsdale Planning Commission meeting, with commissioners citing several questions that remain.

On Aug. 10, the Scottsdale Planning Commission voted 4-3 to continue the request for Ashler Hills Park Municipal Use Master Site Plan. The proposed 15-acre park has yielded several comments from residents of the adjacent neighborhood, Las Piedras.

Ashler Hills Park, located in north Scottsdale near Ashler Hills Drive and 74th Way, was voter-approved in the 2019 bond package. The most recent plans for the park show a 15-acre site that is to include pickleball courts, an area for dogs, a playground for young children, picnic area, a basketball court, a walking path and 70 parking spaces.
