November is art show month for the Artists of the Superstitions.
Our soggy sultry summer is finally over and it’s time to get out in the beautiful East Valley with your friends for the Artists of the Superstitions Fall 2022 shows.
We present the 2022 Fall Studio Tour 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5-Sunday, Nov. 6.
This free self-guided tour is an anticipated event for art lovers since it began in 2007. The tours allow you to visit many of the artists’ studios, which are all beautifully sited in the foothills of the legendary and inspirational Superstition Mountains.
This tour gives you a wonderful time to just relax and spend the weekend in the Gold Canyon/Apache Junction area, driving roads less traveled, visiting studios, meeting with the artists and often even watching them demonstrate their art.
While visiting each studio, take some time to really see the artwork these artists create and you might find a special piece that absolutely speaks to you.
The Superstition Mountains have inspired people to make art since ancient times in many different ways. The area inspires with its gorgeous desert scenery, a wide variety of wildlife that roam the wilderness, many gorgeous minerals all of which get incorporated into our art, as well as the definite feeling that pottery is a must.
This year’s tour will feature a minimum of 48 juried artists in 11 studios.
Maps of the tour route are available at the Apache Junction Area Chamber of Commerce, 567 W. Apache Trail; the Gold Canyon Visitors Center, 6607 S. Kings Ranch Road; as well as many businesses around Gold Canyon and Apache Junction.
You can also find the map on the AOTS website at artistsofthesuperstitions.com.
The map includes the addresses of each studio on the tour, the names of the artists and each artist’s medium.
Just a week later, plan to join us for Art In The Olive Grove 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, at the Queen Creek Olive Mill, 25062 S. Meridian Road in Queen Creek (off Combs Road).
We hope you will come out for a beautiful day of shopping in a park-like setting. Here you will experience finely crafted olive oil for sale in their gift shop, plus coffee, pizza and sandwiches. You can tour the Olive Mill for a fee.
The Artists of the Superstitions is a juried art group of award-winning artists formed in 2007. At both of these wonderful fall shows, visitors will have the opportunity to view and purchase fine art from our members displaying their creations in beads, fabric, glass, gourds, jewelry, painting, photography, pottery, sculpture, wood and more.
More detailed information for either show may be found at the Artists of the Superstitions website, artistsofthesuperstitions.com; or email your questions to firstname.lastname@example.org.
