Justin Sims, of Surprise, is 35 but he had never flown on a plane before until taking a trip to San Francisco in late October.
The art student at the Surprise location of One Step Beyond, a provider of comprehensive programming and services for adults who have intellectual disabilities, wasn’t scared about the flight. It turned out not to be that big of a deal for him.
However, that wasn’t the case for his chaperon, Kristy Bullock, the fine arts director at One Step Beyond who took Sims and another artists Stephanie Fox on a big trip to the Bay Area to sell their art.
