Arrests made in 2018 hit-and-run that killed GCU student

Arizona among deadliest states for pedestrians

Almost three years to the day after a hit-and-run crash that killed Grand Canyon University student Taylor White at age 21, Phoenix police arrested the two suspects they believe are responsible on last Wednesday, April 7.

At an emotional news conference the next day, Thursday, April 8, that Phoenix police held at GCU, Angela and Nate White — Taylor’s parents — spoke about the pain of losing their son, but also the partial relief after getting the first step toward justice they’ve been wanting for three years. The news conference was held on the three-year anniversary of Taylor White's death.

“We’ll never get Taylor back. This won’t ever change that. You know, they talk about, ‘Well, this’ll bring closure.’ It won’t bring closure, but this will bring justice. Justice will go a long way,” Nate White said.
