An 18-year-old man has been arrested as the suspect in an April 22 shooting, and police have identified the victim who died a week later.
Ruben Ruiz Jr. has been booked into jail on a second-degree murder charge, police said Monday. Later in the day, authorities said Jose Castillo, 18, died as a result of his injuries.
The April 22 shooting occurred just after 9 p.m. at a parking lot near 3500 West Van Buren Street where, police learned, two people were involved in an altercation.
