Arizona’s tallest Christmas tree to light up this weekend in Anthem

Posted

For the 23rd year, Outlets North Phoenix, at Anthem, will kick off the holiday season by lighting the state’s tallest fresh-cut Christmas tree and hosting a free holiday concert.

The family event will start at 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23. The center is located at 4250 W. Anthem Way, directly off I-17 in North Phoenix.

The tree lighting ceremony and holiday concert includes performances by American Idol contestant Elleigh Marie and country music artist, and Glendale native, Ashley Wineland.

After the concert Santa Claus and his elves will flip the switch to illuminate more than 1.5 miles of LED lights, roughly 10,000 bulbs, on the 70-foot-tall white fir that traveled more than 750 miles from the Shasta-Trinity National Forest on the California/Oregon border. The tree is adorned with more than 5,000 ornaments and is topped with a three-foot copper star, a nod to the state’s official metal.
