Arizona’s human-trafficking law culminates long journey of hard work by legislators

OPINION — On June 25, I had the honor of joining Gov. Katie Hobbs as she signed House Bill 2720 into law, an important step forward in Arizona’s fight against human trafficking.

Months ago, I testified in support of this legislation and worked alongside community leaders and state lawmakers to help move this effort forward. We continue to work with police, city and county prosecutors, city staff, schools and community groups to address the ongoing challenges, especially along the 27th Avenue corridor.

Thank you to state Sen. Flavio Bravo and state Rep. Selina Bliss for their leadership in championing this bill through the Legislature.
