In the past 10 days, youth football parents, coaches and supporters made a goal-line stand to save what looked for a while like a lost 2023 season.
By Oct. 10, most coaches in National Youth Sports Arizona football leagues with teams in age groups from 7 to 14 realized their schedule for the weekend was blank, as was the remainder of the season. The NYS corporate office sells franchise ownerships to people in different metro areas, and Arizona franchise operator James Vieth was off the grid while league directors tried to contact him.
On Oct. 13, Vieth sent Scottsdale Outlaws Youth Football & Cheer President Diron Tappin and several other local NYS operators a text about taking an extended medical leave. But on the night of Oct. 14, attorney Chris Dutkiewicz sent a Facebook post to the NYS group stating he was hired by Vieth and his JEV Enterprises company to file a personal and business bankruptcy on Vieth’s behalf.
