Arizona tops 49,000 cases of COVID-19, with 1,338 deaths

Arizona has added 3,109 cases and 26 deaths of COVID-19 overnight, according to the state Department of Health Services.
As of the morning of Saturday, June 20, the ADHS reports 49,798 positive cases and 1,338 deaths of the new coronavirus.

For most people, the new coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks. But for some — especially older adults and people with existing health problems — it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, and death.
