Arizona sports betting drops 12% to $491M in February

Top 3 operators still see tens, hundreds of millions

Despite a 12% dip in overall bets placed in the month of February, the Arizona Department of Gaming is reporting just over $491 million in total bets placed translating to $600,000 for coffers at the capitol.

“Event wagering levels continue to indicate a strong market in Arizona,” said Arizona Gaming Director Ted Vogt in a prepared statement. “While there was a small decline in wagering activity, the state maintained a strong national presence in a traditionally slower month of sports wagering.”

Where do those state coffer dollars go? Max Hartgraves, spokesman at the Department of Gaming, reports the money funnels directly into the state’s general fund.
