For the 27th year the Arizona Songwriters Gathering will bring a full day of music to Glendale.
The Arizona Songwriters Association’s free event welcomes performers, writers, and music enthusiasts of all ages to collaborate and perform. More than 100 live music performances will occur throughout the day across three stages.
The event goes from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Glendale Main Library, 5959 W. Brown St.
Participants can join open song-sharing circles by bringing their voices and instruments.
Workshops and lectures by industry experts, including Robin Frederick, Tracey and Vance Mareno, Pat Pattison, and Shelly Peiken will cover practical topics such as song critiques, sync and metadata, the Music Licensing Collective, TV and film placement, prosody, digital audio workstation recording and building a successful independent music career.
Participants can also participate in a songwriting challenge hosted by local songwriter Sandy Hathaway.
Food trucks will also be on-site.
The Arizona Commission on the Arts supports the event, funded by the state of Arizona and the National Endowment for the Arts. They are collaborating with the Glendale Main Library and the Arizona Songwriters Association, with sound support and sponsorship from Barnett Productions.
