Arizona residents and politicians mourn the death of Charlie Kirk

Charlie Kirk, a Scottsdale resident and conservative political activist best known for his talks and debates on college campuses, has died after being shot in the neck at Utah Valley University.

Kirk, originally from Illinois, came to Arizona after founding Turning Point USA, a conservative political group now headquartered in Phoenix’s Ahwatukee neighborhood.

In 2019 he founded Turning Point Action, an organization targeted to voters on college campuses. It later grew into a massive organization backed by President Donald Trump.
