The Arizona Board of Regents has appointed Chad Sampson as its executive director.
Sampson had served as interim executive director of the board since March, replacing John Arnold who was appointed interim senior vice president for business affairs and chief financial officer at the University of Arizona.
Sampson joined the board in 2010 as associate general counsel and transitioned to vice president of strategic planning before serving most recently as vice president of academic affairs and institutional analysis, according to a release.
“For more than a decade, Mr. Sampson has been a trusted leader for the board, providing legal counsel and oversight in academic affairs, institutional analysis and more,” ABOR Chair Cecilia Mata said.
“Since stepping into an interim role, he has engaged with skillful leadership focused on strategic governance, accountability and transparency”
Sampson also serves on the WestEd Board of Directors and has previously served on the board at Tempe Preparatory Academy, Arizona Center for After School Excellence and the Arizona State Board of Education’s Professional Practices Advisory Committee.
He has also worked as an adjunct professor at Mesa Community College.
