Arizona puts ozone advisory in place through Wednesday

Arizona is under an ozone high-pollution advisory through Wednesday, Sept. 3, as the highest concentration of pollution is expected to exceed the federal health standards, state envrionmental quality officials said Tuesday morning.

Active children, adults and people with lung disease such as asthma should reduce prolonged or heavy outdoor exertion, according to ADEQ.

Outdoor painting projects are discouraged during a high-pollution advisory, state officials said, and drivers are encouraged to fill their gas tanks in the early morning or  evening.

Arizona is under an ozone high-pollution advisory through Wednesday, Sept. 3, as the highest concentration of pollution is expected to exceed the federal health standards, state envrionmental quality officials said Tuesday morning.

Also, wood-burning fireplaces, outdoor fire pits and similar outdoor fires should not be used in Maricopa County, officials said.
