Arizona Lottery partners with Phoenix, nonprofit to build new skate park

PHOENIX - The grand opening of the Perry Park Skate Plaza last week provides a "positive athletic outlet" for youngsters in the neighborhood, community officials said at the ribbon cutting.

The Arizona Lottery was host at the event in the park,  2700 N. 32nd St.,  and part of a partnership along with Skate After School and the Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department.

“We’re thrilled about the opening of this park, as Perry sits next to many of the schools we work with and there are just no skate facilities in the vicinity,” said Ryan Lay, Skate After School’s executive director.
