Arizona Legislature gets closer to amending fentanyl bill

Apache Junction resident Peggy Hernandez started her nonprofit organization J & M Walk to Fight in 2020 after the loss of her two sons, Jesse and Marlin, from drug overdoses.

In 2019, her youngest son, Marlin, who had barely turned 27 years old, came home from prison sober; 35 days later he was found dead.

Someone had given him fentanyl. His autopsy report revealed that he had 9.7 milligrams in his system, which is equivalent to a grain of salt.
