The Arizona Humane Society partnered with the Tempe Police Department to remove over 30 dogs from an abusive home on July 28.
According to the police, the dogs were involved in a hoarding situation and the owner has since been arrested for animal cruelty, and subjecting an animal to cruel mistreatment.
“A team of nine AHS staff members consisting of Animal Cruelty Investigators and Behavior Specialists removed 31 Chihuahuas from a Tempe home,” said Bretta Nelson, spokesperson for AHS. “The dogs range in age from one-week-old puppies with their moms to adults, up to approximately eight years of age. Most of the dogs appear to be between two and five years old.”
